What we actually treat

Thinning has more than one cause.

Five different reasons, and they do not answer to the same thing. Which is why the first appointment is not a treatment.

The difference

Most clinics start with the treatment.
We start with a blood panel.

Thyroid, ferritin, vitamin D and hormones all turn up in hair long before anyone connects them. A clinic that only offers one thing will find one thing. A men's health practice reads the whole panel first, then decides whether this is even the right tool — and says so when it is not.

The method

Drawn.
Spun.
Returned.

Nothing synthetic and nothing donated. Roughly an hour, in the chair, in the building.

01

A small draw

One vial, the same as any panel. Taken in clinic by a licensed practitioner.

02

Concentrated

Spun in a centrifuge on site so the useful fraction separates from everything else. Minutes, not days, and it never leaves the building.

03

Returned to the scalp

Placed across the areas mapped at the consult. You walk out and go back to your afternoon.

The add-on

Exosomes, when the plan calls for them.

Some plans pair the treatment with exosomes — lab-sourced signaling vesicles applied to the scalp during the same visit, across the same mapped areas. They can run on their own or alongside the treatment, and whether a plan includes them is decided the way everything here is decided: at the consult, from the panel — never as an upsell at the counter.

A standard session starts at $750. Exosome add-ons and three-session packages are available — the consult sets the plan and the exact total before anything is booked, so the number is known up front. Financing is available through Affirm and CareCredit, and HSA/FSA cards are accepted.

The honest part

It is not the right answer for everyone.

Sometimes the panel points somewhere else first — thyroid, iron, hormones — and treating the scalp before treating the cause is money spent in the wrong order. When that is the case, that is what the consult will say. A hair studio cannot make that call. A men's health practice can.

Questions, answered plainly

Before booking.

How does the treatment work?
A small blood draw is taken in clinic, spun in a centrifuge on site so the concentrated fraction separates, and that fraction is placed back into the scalp across the areas mapped at the consult. Nothing synthetic, nothing donated — it is drawn, spun, and returned in the same visit.
What happens at the first appointment?
Bloodwork and a conversation. The panel covers thyroid, ferritin, vitamin D and hormones, because each of those shows up in hair. The plan is built from what the panel says — including, when the panel points somewhere else, a recommendation other than this treatment.
How many sessions does a plan involve?
Most plans run as a short course of sessions spaced weeks apart, then periodic maintenance visits. The exact schedule is set at the consult — it depends on the panel and the areas being treated, so a number quoted before that would be a guess.
Does it hurt?
The draw is the same as any lab panel. For the scalp work, numbing is applied first; most describe pressure more than pain. The whole visit runs about an hour.
Is there downtime?
No — walk out and go back to the afternoon. The clinic advises skipping hard workouts, saunas and pools for the first day or two, and going easy on harsh hair products for a few days.
Are there side effects?
Because the material is drawn from the same person it returns to, the common effects are local and short-lived — tenderness, tightness or redness at the treated areas for a day or two. The practitioner walks through all of it at the consult.
What does it cost?
Starts at $750 for a standard session, with exosome add-ons and three-session packages available. The consult sets the plan and the exact total before anything is booked — the number is known up front, not discovered later.
What about exosomes?
Exosomes are lab-sourced signaling vesicles applied to the scalp, either on their own or paired with the treatment in the same visit. Whether a plan includes them — and what that plan costs — is set at the consult, before anything is booked.
Can HSA/FSA or financing be used?
HSA/FSA cards are accepted at the clinic, and financing is available through Affirm and CareCredit. Whether an expense qualifies under a specific HSA/FSA plan is set by that plan's administrator, so checking with them first is worth it.
How is this different from a transplant?
A transplant is surgery — follicles are relocated under local anesthesia, with a surgical recovery to match. This is a non-surgical, needle-based treatment done in about an hour with no grafts and no scalpel. They are different tools for different situations, and the consult is where it becomes clear which one fits — including when the honest answer is the one we do not sell.
How do I know if it is the right option?
That is what the panel and the consult decide. The clinic treats several distinct causes of thinning, and they do not all answer to the same thing — which is exactly why the first appointment is bloodwork and a conversation, not a treatment.
