Robert Booth, MPAS, EMPA-C Memphis, TN Midtown Clinic Director
Robert Booth is an experienced Physician Assistant with over 20 years of experience in medicine. Mr. Booth began his medical career as a Navy Corpsman including tours in Operation Desert Storm and Panama. Mr. Booth proudly served in both a fleet command and as a Field Medic for the fourth Marines Infantry Battalion. He then went on to spend over 10 years as a Paramedic working in both rural and urban EMS systems. After graduating from the University of Mississippi in 2002, Mr. Booth went to PA school at the University of New England, graduating in 2005. He then successfully completed an Emergency Medicine Residency for Physician Assistants at the University of Texas in San Antonio. Mr. Booth has been serving the citizens of Memphis for the past six years at Methodist University emergency department. Mr. Booth is also adjunct faculty at the Christian Brothers University Physician Assistant program, which focuses on emergency medicine.
Michael Washington, M.D., M.B.A., FACEP
Dr. Michael Washington is an emergency medicine physician in practice for 27 years, the last 22 of which have been spent at Methodist Hospitals of Memphis. Dr. Washington completed medical school at Meharry Medical College in Nashville, TN and residency in Detroit at Henry Ford Hospital. He is Board Certified in Emergency Medicine by The American Board of Physician Specialties since 1998 and an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center. In preparation for the revolutionary changes in healthcare, Washington enrolled in graduate school in 2010, earning his MBA from Auburn University in May of 2012. He has been selected to be the Medical Director of the Emergency Department at Methodist Hospital in Olive Branch, Mississippi, which is scheduled to open in August 2013.
Dr. Washington is currently employed as an attending emergency medicine physician at Methodist University Hospital in Memphis where he is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Medicine for the University of Tennessee Health Science Center. He currently serves on the Credentials Committee for Methodist-LeBonheur Hospitals of Memphis and the Senior Leadership Committee at Methodist University Hospital. Dr. Washington is a member of the Board of Directors of Methodist Extended Care Hospital, The Tennessee College of Emergency Physicians and Lamplighter Montessori School in Cordova, TN. He is a member of the Southern Medical Association and serves as a member of its Leadership and Professional Identity Committee, and is a member of the Family Life Committee and serves on the Advisory Board for St. George’s Independent School of Collierville, TN.
